THERE’S SO MANY CHOICES WHEN YOU BUY NEW AT KENSINGTON GARDENS... ALBURY $279,115 Live! LIFE+STYLE Squat at fame rewarded DOINGa ton of squats is not every- one’s idea of celebrating a birthday, but for Margaret Deas it not only marked a wonderful achievement but helped raise money for animals. Margaret chose the unusual cele- bration for her 102nd birthday to raise money for the Australian Wildlife Society and to prove her broken pelvis was well and truly healed. In 2011 Margaret spent six weeks in hospital after falling and breaking her pelvis in three places. Despite doctors’ warnings she may never walk again, Margaret proved you can’t keep a determined woman down. She set herself a target of complet- ing 102 squats on her 102nd birthday in February. A resident of Thomas Holt aged care facility in Sutherland Shire, Margaret had plenty of friends, neighbours and staff cheering her on. ■ Thomas Holt Villages, Acacia Rd, 9545-4799, www.thomasholt.org.au TREMENDOUS – Margaret Deas marked her 102nd birthday by doing 102 squats!
